Display calibration is the process of adjusting your monitor so that brightness, contrast, and color balance are consistent, accurate, and easy on the eyes. Proper calibration helps ensure that text is sharp, graphics look true to life, and no hidden issues—like washed-out areas or overly bright spots—distort what you’re seeing. This matters not only for designers but for anyone who spends time reviewing listings, comparing images, or reading detailed content online. Without regular checks, small imperfections can quietly increase eye strain and reduce your ability to spot fine details.
A helpful first step in display testing is to view a uniform dark background, which makes subtle screen irregularities easier to notice. Using a black screen for display testing
lets you quickly identify uneven backlighting, glare, or smudges that might otherwise go unnoticed during normal use. Incorporating this simple check into your routine can improve clarity and make long browsing or work sessions more comfortable and accurate.
Dunno if its correct but the Blocks and the Macro Blocks Link is the same
It appears that there might be some confusion here. "Blocks" and "Macro Blocks" could potentially refer to the same concept, but it's essential to clarify their specific meanings within the context.
I sorted over 18000 files from this exchange, for TM2020, by doing a little bit each day. I can find almost any item quickly (meaning, if it is placed in the world without a name, I can find it or an equivalent duplicate in my list). Items, Blocks, and Macroblocks are seperate zip files.
Editor tips for handling so many items:
Almost all folders are limited to 14 subfolders+files, to avoid the annoying 1/2 and 2/2, etc.
Right click on a folder to view only it and it's subfolders. I.e. if you are placing a collection of dirthill items you don't want to clutter the UI with other items.
Use tab to toggle on and off the folders, and move the mouse toward the top of the screen when toggling it back on to.
Both read the folder's title and see the icon, they both are helpful in figuring out what is going on.
Be aware of what each material is called, i.e. "tech" vs "deco" vs "bump", etc.
Know the difference between "track" "track terrain" and "terrain".
The group "special" has quite a few subcategories, including waypoints, no-collide props, turbos, and more. However, waypoints and turbos with attached track are usually in the folder for the track, not the "specials" folder.
Transitions can be in either folder. For example, ice to tech can be in either the ice or tech folder, usually in a "transition" subfolder. Transitions from custom tracks to default tracks should be in the custom track folder. For example, dirtHill to tech will be in "dirtHill" not tech.
Tm2020 USED to hog RAM, spiking to about 40 GB with all these items. However, the new version seems to stay under 2GB when opening the editor with a fresh map and loading times are very, very short! There is only a slight delay when opening block subfolders (items are still basically instant).
Beware the brick-wall The loading times on game startup are a bit longer due to all the items (even if you don't open the editor), but memory usage stays low throught this waiting period. However, about two thousand items more and the game does not load at all. I am not sure if this wall depends on computer resources or is due to a number overflowing in the game and freezing it.
Link to the items, it's just shy of 1GB:

Link to the blocks, it's around 270MB (EDIT: fixed permissions in link):

It's amazing how many files you worked through in order to create TM2020 and that is exactly what you did. You have also created a great way to quickly find objects in the TM 2020 editor. Your suggestions are great, especially using the right-click function and being aware of materials and folder names. It is great that TM2020 now works faster, and is also much quicker to load. Thanks also for including links to the corresponding items, blocks, and macroblocks!
